Core Kite skills

The Core Kite skills lesson is the starting point for every kite related sport and an eye opener for most people as many completely under-estimate the power that a small foil kite can generate.

This 2.5 hour land based lesson is split into 2 modules, Foil kite flying with and without harness.

AIM: By the end of the lesson we aim to get you completely in control of your foil kite with the right skills so you carry on and learn to Kitesurf, Kite buggy, Land board and Snow kite.

Below is a quide to what your instructor will teach you on your Lesson 1 – Core Kite skills.

Module 1 – Foil Kites
In this module we introduce you to foil kites and teach you how to risk assess your flying zone, set up your kite, launch and fly your kite using the wind window and then how to land safely. Below are the individual parts of your lesson;

• Risk assessent and safety
• Wind effect
• Set up a trainer kite
• Know the use of safety systems
• Have basic flying skills with trainer kite
• Launch and land the trainer kite with an assistant
• Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite
• Walk and change directions while flying the kite
• Fly your kite using the wind window
• Fly 2 line kite using bar and harness
• Walk and change directions while flying the kite

What is included

Your course is taught by a professional IKO / BKSA instructor and includes 3 hours group teaching with no more than 4 students to one instructor, all of the kites,harness`s and helmets as required.

What do I bring?

For this land based lesson please bring;

Grippy shoes
Sunglasses
Sun cream (if sunny)
Appropriate clothes for the day
Bottle of water and maybe a snack as is a full on 3 hours.

Our Lesson 1 – Core skills is costed as below;

SUSSEX COST - 2.5 hour lesson – £65

Your lesson includes all of the kites and safety kit as required.
