Power Kite lessons

Power Kiting is a really fun outdoor sport great for all ages. You may have seen people on beaches and hill sides flying stunt kites and no doubt hear them buzzing around the sky, great fun but definitely with no control. Power kiting is a lot more fun and based on a more technical foil kite (as in the picture) that are safer to fly and can generate a surprising amount of power.

Our Power kite lessons will teach you everything from the absolute fundamentals such as pre- flight assessment and how to set up your kite to flying your kite completely in control. By the end of your lesson you will be amazed at how much power you can actually use and, as many of our students have found, has been the gateway to other extreme sports such as Kitesurfing, Kite buggying, Land boarding and Snow kiting.

Foil kites vary in size and power so are an ideal out door “toy” for all ages especially for families as really encourages coordination and communication skills for the younger persons.

Requirements

You dont need to have any kite skills to join our one day Power kite lesson as we teach you all of the necessary skills, Happy days.

All you need is a pare of sunglasses, grippy shoes and looking for a really fun day out learning an exciting sport that everyone can do.

We recommend that you join our one day kite buggy course as it not only teaches you to fly power kites but also the associated skills to kite buggy.

What is included

Your course is taught by a professional IKO / BKSA instructor and includes 3 hours group teaching with no more than 6 students to one instructor, all of the kites, harness`s and helmets as required.

What do I bring?

For this land based lesson you will need to bring;

- Grippy shoes
- Sunglasses
- Sun cream (if sunny)
- Appropriate clothes for the day
- Bottle of water as is a full on 3 hour session.

Lesson plan

Below is a quide to what your instructor will teach you on your one day Learn to Power Kite course;

IKO Level 1A
• Know safe wind directions and conditions for kiting
• Know hazards on a spot
• Set up a trainer kite
• Know the use of safety systems

IKO Level 1B
• Have basic flying skills with trainer kite
• Launch and land the trainer kite with an assistant
• Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite
• Walk and change directions while flying the kite
• Know the wind window

Additional
• Fly 2 line kite using bar and harness
• Walk and change directions while flying the kite

Our One Day Power kite course is costed as below,

Group 3 hour lesson (4:1): £65.00

Now that you have decided this is the lesson / course for you please just email a preffered date and we will check availability for your, reserve your course and forward an invoice to you. Your preffered date is held for 48 hours pending deposit, once recieved we will confirm your lesson date / dates and issue your training pack.
